Honda CB150R was launched in Indonesia a while back in August, in short CB150R is a naked version of Honda CBR150R but as the bike is manufactured in Indonesia you expect it to be much more refined then the one that are build in India. BHL confirmed that they will import the bikes from Indonesia as CBU and later in the future they will manufacture the bikes on our home soil.

Over the years we have seen that Honda lacked STYLE in their bikes, reason why CB Unicorn and Honda CB Trigger never a choice for the young generations despite the later been awarded the best 150cc bike in Bangladesh last year. The looks of the bike is very aggressive & muscular, the bike has a high positioned handlebars and LED side blinking units. The bike have a split headlight where a silver strip separates the two parts, the best part is that they have given the bike edgy design and a sporty looks.
honda cb150r streetfire speedometer
The rear of the bike gets LED indicators and tail lights; there is a grab rail for the pillion. The speedometer is digital & probably one of the best Honda ever designed, it has LED speedometer with odometer and fuel gauge. The bike has telescopic forks and single swing arm suspension which should help in to fight the bumps and all on the road of Dhaka. The ignition key of the bike is on the fuel tank which is something rare in Honda bikes but this time they did it with some design.

The chassis of the bike is diamond frame and it shares the same 150cc water cooled engine that you get in CBR150R but only this time they detuned the power, so instead of delivering 18.3 BHP it pumps out 16.7 BHP of power, nearly the same as Yamaha R15V2.0 & 14 NM of Torque but glad that it has a 6 speed gearbox to transfer the power to its rear wheels. The brakes are from Nissin one of the branded brake manufacturing company in the world. They gave duel piston brake in the front and single piston to the rear of the bike.

FZ150i Motorcycle, Yamaha

Just weeks after we saw Yamaha M Slaz in Bangladesh and courtesy of the importer I got to TEST RIDE the bike, a new importer has bought Yamaha FZ150i in Bangladesh from Malaysia. The bike is also known as Vixion in the Thai market. Today I will share the details about the bike and First Ride Impression with you all.
yamaha fz150i
FZ150i is a naked bike which gives a masculine look; the bike is powered by a 150cc SOHC water cooled engine which has 4 valves in it. The engine is fuel injected as stated in the name of the bike. The engine delivers 16.4 BHP & 14.5 NM of Torque to the rear wheel by a 5 speed transmission. What really amazes me about the bike is the weight of it; the dry weight of the bike is 117 kg which is fantastic for speed & mileage.
yamaha fz150i showroom in bangladesh
The bike has 90/80 front and 120/70 rear tyres which will also help to increase the fuel efficiency for the bike, the bike is usually a naked bike, the engine is fully exposed to the naked eyes unlike M Slaz which is more covered.  The bike’s headlight is old fashioned and is halogen type unlike the LED of M Slaz but I think the lights will be powerful enough for riding at anytime at any place.
There is a front cowl under the engine to help prevent mud to attract the engine bay & the radiator, there is a rear mud guard which is very long enough but there is no mud cover on the rear wheels unlike R15V2. The front suspension are telescopic while the rear suspension are mono swing arm, the handle bar is a rod handle but they are bend unlike FZS or Fazer which are technically straight.
latest yamaha fz150i motorcycle in bangladesh
The whole big is LONG, there is no split seat and the saddle is very long almost good enough to carry 3 people easily (not recommended). Yamaha Malaysia is very clever to have some under seat grab rail in the pillion seat something which was badly missing in R15 V2 & M Slaz.
The fuel tank design is classis, ignition key holder is on the fuel tank with a standard key shutter for safety. The speedometer has a analog rev counter with a digital speedometer, fuel gauge and many warning lights, sadly they missed the clock in the bike. It has a fuel tank is designed for maximum aerodynamic efficiency.
yamaha fz150i speedometer
FIRST RIDE IMPRESSION
Every fantastic song need to have a good music and hands on heart this is first time I found that soul in the engine in any Yamaha bikes, yes it is the same engine as R15v1 but the exhaust note is completely different, it makes you feel the fuel burning in the chamber mixing with oxygen in your heart when you rev the bike.
yamaha fz150i price in bangladesh
The seating position is very good which don’t let you lean forward like in a sports bike while the foot peg are positioned well for comfortable ride thanks to the handle bar of the bike with the front foot peg, there is no headlight turn off switch with the bike which is a bit irritating, the switch gears are good. The pillion seat is very long and one can seat without too much trouble.
yamaha fz150i suspension
Though the suspensions are pretty normal but they do their job very well in the bumpy road I rode into. Sadly the maximum I could manage was 50 km/h but I can feel that once the engine will be free it will unleash its power. I think the bike will have good top speed of over 130 km/h
The braking and handling of the bike is good though sadly my entire test ride was behind rickshaws but I have no complain, the saddle height is not too long and good for people of my height. I am honest that the finishing quality isn’t the best of all as we have seen over the years from Yamaha, the plastic quality needed to be a touch more better but as the bike has R15V2 engine in it I don’t think anyone should complain much about the rest of the bike.

yamaha fz150i review
This is the first exclusive Yamaha bike in Bangladesh which is practical, but I admit that the bike is a bit last year in terms of styling. R15 V2 is a track oriented bike which will catch attraction even if a Honda CUB50 is covered with money beside it, M Slaz will be a bike on which you want to arrive somewhere into, Yamaha FZ150i is the bike which you want to use for day to day biking!

Bennett 150 motorcycle

Bennett 150 motorcycle has been one of the most popular new bike to look out for the bikers of Bangladesh.  Bennett 150 motorcycle has launch their products in Chittagong back in February 2013. It took them another 8 months to start their operation in Dhaka. On the 6th of October they have officially launch their product in Dhaka, in a showroom at  Karwan Bazar.
bennett 150 price in bangladesh
So what is the fuss about it? It is a sports bike that is a carbon copy of Yamaha R125. In the past some importer like Frantic, Yummy Japan, CRV have bought some FAKE  Honda CBR150 or 250 bikes in BD. What these bikes are carbon copy of the original Honda CBR 150 R or 250R, bikes that are assemble in China and the engine is also MADE IN CHINA.  MAF Motors did something different and clever, instead of copying HONDA they copied Yamaha R125.
The bikes does look good but there are some funny features. Dispite being it a SPORTS bike it has a kicker, the speedometer is a bit different not a full copy of R125, actually has a 225cc engine but they say that it is a 150cc bike.  But the most strangest thing is despite it has a full body kit the bike is AIR COOLED unlike the original R125 which is OIL COOLED. So in a HOT and HUMID day in one of the worst traffic city in the world I won’t be surprise if some one the bikes cook themselves out.
bennett motorcycle
The finishing isn’t bad though I saw the bike at night time, there is a rear grab rail for the pillion rider which is good. The handle bar are sporty. The front brake looks good, there are two caliper on the rear brake, so hoping that the braking system too will be good. They say it has a power output of 19 BHP so in terms of acceleration it should be up there with it’s rival like Megelli, Katana and may be not with Frantic IS 150. The compression ratio is low. The rear tire is flat and to be honest by the look of it I think the rear of the bike is a bit 2-3 inch longer then the actual R125.

OUR VERDICT

Yes it looks good but at 2.4 LAC this bike isn’t a good value for money. Moreover the biggest problem is it is Chinese so I doubt it will a reliable bike. But In all Chinese Fairing bikes available in Bangladesh, its give good sporty look.
